I’ve never really cooked with pears before, but when a friend gave us some Japanese pears from a tree in her yard I felt I needed to make something nice.

These seemed pretty small so I just used all of them.
They weighed roughly a pound and a half.
After I peeled them I cut them in half and used a melon ball tool to remove the seeds & core.
Then I cut them into thin slices.
I added flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg & salt to the slices and stirred to coat all the slices.

To make a quick job of it I just used store bought pie crust that had come to room temperature. I placed it on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper then unrolled the dough.

I piled the pear slices on top leaving about an inch border all the way around.
Then I folded up the edges all the way around and baked it for 40 minutes.
