Shepherd Pie has been around a long time. There are many versions of it. This is our family’s version of it. Quick, easy & delicious. The recipe here is actually a double size because we enjoy the leftovers. Just cut the recipe in half if you want a smaller amount.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet then drain off excess fat.
Stir in the tomato soup until well blended.
Add the green beans.
Pour the mixture into a casserole dish and top with prepared mashed potatoes.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake until hot & bubbly.
Enjoy.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 2 cans green beans
- 2 cans tomato soup, undiluted
- 2 pkgs instant mashed potatoes
- 1 C. shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet.
- While the ground beef is cooking, prepare the mashed potatoes according to package directions.
- Drain off the excess fat from the cooked ground beef.
- In the same skillet add the tomato soup to the cooked ground been and stir until well blended.
- Stir in the green beans
- Pour this mixture into a casserole dish.
- Top with the prepared mashed potatoes.
- Then top with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 30 minutes until hot & bubbly.
- Allow it to cool a few minutes before serving.
