Rustic Pear Tart

Materials

  • 4-5 small Pears
  • 1 Pie Crust (store bought)
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Cold butter cubed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Bring the store bought pie crust from the fridge to the counter to come to room temperature, about 20 minutes
  • Meanwhile, peel pears using a standard vegetable peeler.
  • Cut pears in half, use a melon ball tool to remove the core & seeds.
  • Cut into thin slices
  • In a medium size bowl, combine the pear slices with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt & flour. Set aside.
  • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the store bought pie crust onto the parchment paper.
  • Pile the pears in the center of the crust, leaving about an inch border all around.
  • Fold the edge of the crust up all the way around.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Bake for about 40 minutes.
